Main Review

Though one the most conventional compact printers, Panasonic has kept certain priorities high on its agenda, like print quality for a start. As dye-sublimation printers go, the KX-PX20 is a very good example. Panasonic has avoided the pitfall of oversaturated prints and managed a print quality that is natural looking, particularly with neutral grey tones. Printing speed is on a par with the other models we've compared it to.

A relatively large 3.6in LCD display makes viewing and selecting images less of a chore and the print system doesn’t freeze the interface while a print is being produced. Styling wise, the KX-PX20 isn’t going to make your heart miss a beat, but it is very functional, and even comes with a cordless remote controller for your convenience. One problem, though, is that the paper cartridge, when fitted, extends the overall length of the unit considerably, making it a comparatively long printer. Paper and ink packs aren’t cheap or easy to find.

Verdict

If Panasonic could reduce the price of consumables and ensure good availability in retail channels, the KX-PX20 would be highly recommend.
